Layoffs

WARN notices

Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification notices attached to indexable company records. A notice says an employer reported a qualifying layoff to a state. It does not say the company has closed.

States publish these notices in different formats, and Shuttingdown only lists a notice after it is tied to a company page that meets the publication standard. Coverage is not national. Read how to read a WARN notice before treating one as a closing. The source notes describe what a notice is allowed to prove.
